Laton High School Graduation Requirements

 A total of 250 credits must be earned for high school graduation. Students are granted five (5) credits for successfully completing each semester course with the grade of a “D” or better. Credits must be earned in the following subject areas:

English Language Arts: 40

Mathematics: 30

Biological: 10

Earth Science/ Chemistry: 10

World History: 10

United States History: 10

Civics/Economics: Taught in the same class, topics are separated by semester credits (5 for Civics/5 for Economics) 10

Fine Art/Foreign Language: 10

Physical Education: 20

Computer Applications: 10

ROP Vocational: 20

Electives: 70

Total: 250

 

In order to be considered on track for graduation the students should follow the following credit benchmarks:

To Enter:

10th grade              11th grade              12th grade

  70 credits            140 credits             210 credits

Cyber High: Online courses for students who failed either one semester or full year of a required class. See counselor for more details.
